Crochet the Shell Trellis Stitch

It's a pleasure to share with you this beautiful lace stitch pattern, called the Shell Trellis stitch. The stitch is truly a beautiful lace stitch and if you follow the video tutorial and the written instructions below you will see that is sooooo easy to make!!

MATERIALS:

  • Any yarn suitable to your project - I used Alize Superlana Midi
  • A crochet hook suitable for your chosen yarn - I used a 4mm crochet hook

SPECIAL STITCH:

Shell stitch (SH): 5 dc in indicated stitch.

Abbreviations:

SH - shell stitch
ch - chain/es
st - stitch/es
dc - double crochet
sc - single crochet

INSTRUCTIONS:

Ch in multiples of 10. I chained 30sts for this sample
Row 1: skip first ch, sc in each ch across. Turn
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in next sc, *skip 2 sts, SH in next st, skip 2 sts, sc in next st, ch 5, skip 3 sts, sc in next st. Rep from * till 7 sts left. Sk 2 sts, SH in next st, skip 2 sts, dc in last 2 sts. Turn

Row 3: Ch 3, dc in next dc, ch 3, sc in middle dc of next SH, *ch 5, sc in next ch-5 space, ch 5, sc in middle dc of next SH. Rep from * across. Ch 3, dc in each of the last 2 dc. Turn.

Row 4: Ch 3, dc in next dc, ch 1, sc in next ch-3 space, *ch 5, sc in next ch-5 space, SH in next sc, sc in next ch-5 space. Rep from * until the last ch-3 space. Ch 5, sc in last ch-3 space, ch 1, dc in each of the last 2 dc. Turn

Row 5: Ch 3, dc in next dc, ch 3, sc in next ch-5 space, *ch 5, sc in middle dc of next SH, ch 5, sc in next ch-5 space. Rep from * across. Ch 3, dc in each of the last 2 dc. Turn.

Row 6: Ch 3, dc in next dc, skip the next ch-3 space, SH in next sc, *sc in next ch-5 space, ch 5, sc in next ch-5 space, SH in next sc. Rep from * across. Dc in last 2 dc. Turn

Repeat rows 3 - 6 until you will your desired leght.
